1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Verse Scholar ("the Service"), operated by Verse Scholar ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Verse Scholar is a Bible study platform that provides access to public domain Bible translations, study tools, scholarly analysis, sermon preparation tools, research features, and related content. The Service is available via web browser at versescholar.com and its subdomains.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account.

4. Subscription Plans and Payments

• Verse Scholar offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe.
• By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
• We reserve the right to change subscription prices with 30 days advance notice.
• Credits purchased are non-refundable and do not expire.

5. Refund Policy

Subscription payments are generally non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 7 days of the charge and we will review your request on a case-by-case basis.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its systems
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service without written permission
• Reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit content generated by the Service without attribution
• Share your account credentials with others or allow multiple people to use a single account
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

7. Content and Intellectual Property

• Bible text provided through the Service consists of public domain translations. These texts are not owned by Verse Scholar.
• Study content, analysis, sermons, and research produced by the Service are provided for your personal use.
• The Verse Scholar name, logo, and branding are our intellectual property and may not be used without permission.
• User-generated content (notes, bookmarks, journal entries) remains your property. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and display this content to you.

8. Generated Content Disclaimer

Verse Scholar generates study content, analysis, and other materials using advanced technology. While we strive for accuracy, generated content may contain errors. It is provided for educational and devotional purposes and should not be treated as authoritative theological or scholarly work. We encourage users to verify important claims through additional sources.

9. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to the Service or other users. We will provide notice when possible. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verse Scholar shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action.
